60 Metre Mullet Net

Mullet are found in shallow estuarys, harbours and in the surf zone of exposed beaches.

Mullet are easy to catch in a net and they can be netted passively by setting the net overnight in clear water or during the day in muddy water.

More targeted methods for catching mullet are drag netting for schools spotted in the surf or plonking from a boat to chase schools into the net.

Plonking is usually done with a plumbers plunger driven forcefully into the water or the sea surface is hit with an oar to startle the fish into the net.
